If you don't mind getting your hands a bit dirty, dissecting a pellet is a great way to learn a little about the secretive lives of owls - as our volunteer pellet detective Lucy Haskell explains. There are lots more activities and ways to stay engaged with nature in our new Learning Zone -> https://bit.ly/2Y8lrEM #DiscoverLearnPlay | Scottish Wildlife Trust

🦉What is an owl pellet? And what can we learn from them? Let’s dig in and find out! Note: To safely collect pellets, wear gloves, or use a bag turned inside out. To sanitize, wrap the pellets in foil and bake at 325°F for 40 minutes, or 250°F for 4 hours. We recommend gloves, and wash your hands well with soap and water after handling! #MontanaFWP #wildlifewednesday | Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks
