Microsoft has announced that the .NET MAUI extension for Visual Studio Code is now generally available, allowing developers to now build cross-platform apps using .NET MAUI within their editor.

This should be the final preview release of .NET 11 before we get release candidates and a final release in November.

Microsoft's July release adds a Copilot Chat agent preview, workload-specific skills, shared instructions, branch context and C++ build controls.
